I always record a metronome track first, I just let it run for like 5 minutes while in in the bathroom or something. Sometimes I just forget to clip off that extra time.

What bass guitar and effects do you use? I use a Rickenbacker 4003, and that's the sort of sound I've been trying to get for quite a while
