Anyway, I get to eat my words now. I just loved Mega Man 10 sooo fucking much. Sure, there were a couple of stage themes that sucked, but that's the case in pretty much every game I guess. But, Nitro Man stage rocked! And, the Wily stages from 9 and 10 were both sooo goddamned awesome. Every second playing them I was just overwhelemed with joy that I was getting to play a NEW 8-bit game in 2010. I hope Inafune's leaving Capcom doesn't hold back the release of MM 11.

Golly, I have yet to play a MegaMan game. I feel like I'm missing out~~~
But LostWinds is quite fun even though it's nothing like MM. Hahaha.

Anyone here remember/played Fur Fighters? Fun times for me.

Hm, many game companies had something happen to them this year. What a uhhhh interesting trend. Capcom, Squeenix, CiNG, etc.

My brother got me an old copy of Castlevania 3 for Christmas. I've learned three things:

-I need to fix both of the NESes at some point in the near future
-My threshold for cursing and screaming at a video game is significantly lower than it was the last time I actually sat down to play one
-I'm really fucking rusty at video games

Overall, awesome game and I'm having lots of fun with it.

X-MAS GOODIES

-Sonic Colors (usually I can tolerate the 3D Sonics, and since this one has been gettin' good reviews, yay)
-Epic Mickey (heard it may not be as awesome as its concept set out to be, but I haven't played an adventure game in a while, so we'll see how it goes)
-Goldeneye 007 for the Wii (let's see if it can live up to the hype)
-Donkey Kong Country Returns (yesssssssssssss)
-Golden Sun: Dark Dawn (this won't be played until I re-play the first two, so that won't be for another year or so; I am a terrible gamer)

and I just bought Mega Man 10 and Paper Mario with my Nintendo Points card, since my cartridge version of Paper Mario is messed-up and glitches when I get to Goombario when I start a new file

now I wish I had the time to play all these non-stop Crying or Very sad

I tried replaying the first one about a year ago and could not make it past the starting village. Game just bored the hell out of me and I stopped playing. Fuck 'em. Just read a recap or something if you want a refresher on the story.

Currently on a retro kick, so I'm playing Ninja Gaiden I & II and random shooters in MAME.

Fun fact: Most NES' don't actually ever need "fixed". There's not really any moving parts, so it's hard for anything to wear out unless it's been living in a really damp environment. Usually what happens over time is that from games being pushed in and pulled out, the pins on the NES' motherboard that make contact with the NES cartridge pinout points become bent in and not as resistant (and therefore not making as much contact) as they used to be. To fix this and essentially make your NES as it was brand new, all you have to do is take the cover off, and take a safety pin or something similar and pull the pins back out to their original positions. BAM! No more graphics glitches, random resets, color-screen powerons, blowing, cursing, spitting on the contacts, etc.

Did this to my own awhile back and it worked awesomely. Here's some instructions from some random website (but it's the same procedure).

Well that took longer than expected. I did the "remove all the games from your queue except for the one you want" thing to make sure I got it, but I left in the games that weren't out yet and didn't get shit for almost two weeks. I took them out yesterday and I finally got the email letting me know it's been shipped.

Oh well, live and learn HANGING ON THE EDGE OF TOMORROW!

YES I know I've been wanting to do this before I even got GTAIV!

already beat SR2 100% on the 360...occasionally I'll fire it up for some more 'Christopher Nolan's Cockney Darkwing Duck' action, but I'm used to a keyboard setup and I heard the PC version of SR2 wasn't too hot (can't wait for Saints Row: The Third though Very Happy)

also, apparently there's a 'sleep mode' or something in the options so BRB, going to do some CARMAGEDDON!

I tried the PC version for a bit before I got the 360 version and didn't notice what all the fuss was about re: buggy port issues (I did warez it though so maybe that had something to do with it).
Plus there's the Gentleman of the Row mod that fixes lots of bugs and adds a whole lot of neat things.

But if you already 100% it then yeah you're better off waiting for The Third.

On another retro game kick as of late. This time I'm going to focus my attention on my NES. Just ordered a new 72-pin connector and AC power adapter (the one I currently have causes the tv speakers to produce a loud hum). Got a stack of about 20 games I want to play through. My goal is to complete at least 5 of them before I get bored and move on to something else.

Also planning on hitting Play N Trade this weekendto see what I can find. My collection is severely lacking in Castlevania and Ninja Gaiden.

Yes, an NES collection is nothing without some Castlevania. I've been playing CV 3 on my Wii the past couple of days seeing if I can beat it the old fashioned way (w/ no save states). I decided I would try the difficult path first, then do the intermediate and easy ones. Man, I am so stuck now. After level 5, this game does not fuck around.
